Nour’s World Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 16, 2025
Last Updated: September 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Nour’s World is an educational and social-emotional learning application designed primarily for children aged 4 to 8, as well as their parents, caregivers, and teachers.
Nour’s World is a project of Thaki, developed in partnership with TNO, with support from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Thaki developed and operates the application, while TNO contributed scientific and educational content relating to children’s emotional resilience and helping children recognize and manage difficult emotions.
Protecting children’s privacy is especially important to us. Nour’s World has been designed to minimize the collection and processing of personal information.
The application does not require users to create an account, register, sign in, or provide their name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information.
Because Nour’s World is intended for young children, we recommend that children use the application with the involvement or supervision of a parent, caregiver, or teacher.
2. Who Operates Nour’s World
Nour’s World is operated by:
Thaki Nederland
James Wattstraat 100-8
1097DM Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Website: https://thaki.org
Email: info@thaki.org
Thaki Nederland is responsible for the operation of Nour’s World and for the privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy.
TNO contributed scientific and educational content to the program but does not receive the personal information of Nour’s World users through the application.
3. Versions of Nour’s World
Nour’s World is available in online and offline versions.
Offline Version
The offline version of Nour’s World is designed to operate without a continuing Internet connection after its initial setup.
When the application is installed or opened for the first time, an Internet connection is required so that Nour’s World can connect to Thaki’s servers and download the educational assets required by the application.
These resources are downloaded as an application asset package and stored locally on the user’s device.
After the required assets have been downloaded successfully, the offline version can be used without an active Internet connection.
The offline version therefore uses Internet and network-access functionality during the initial setup and may also check whether a network connection is available before attempting to download the required resources.
The offline version does not require an Internet connection for normal use after the required content has been downloaded.
Online Version
The online version of Nour’s World requires an Internet connection to retrieve educational content and application resources.
Depending on the activity being used, the application may retrieve:
- application data from Thaki’s servers;
- JSON-based content;
- images and thumbnails;
- HTML-based educational activities; and
- embedded YouTube video content.
PDF educational materials may be packaged directly with the application and can be accessed without transmitting the contents of those PDFs to Thaki.
Neither version requires a user account, registration, login, or user profile.
4. Information You Do Not Need to Provide
Nour’s World does not require users to provide personal information in order to use the application.
We do not ask users to provide information such as:
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- home address;
- date of birth;
- gender;
- account credentials;
- profile information;
- photographs;
- audio or voice recordings;
- contact lists; or
- precise location information.
Nour’s World does not provide user accounts or user profiles.
5. Children’s Responses and Activities
Some Nour’s World activities may invite children to interact with the application, for example by answering questions, selecting an emotion, indicating how they feel, or making choices as part of an educational activity.
These interactions are designed to be anonymous.
The responses are used only temporarily within the current activity or session to provide the educational experience.
Nour’s World does not:
- save these responses in a user database;
- create a profile of the child;
- associate responses with the child’s identity;
- transmit the responses to Thaki;
- transmit the responses to TNO;
- use the responses for analytics;
- use the responses for advertising; or
- use the responses to track the child across sessions or services.
Once the relevant activity or session ends, Nour’s World does not retain these responses as a user record.
6. Technical Information Generated by Internet Connections
Nour’s World does not require users to provide identifying information in order to use the application.
However, whenever an application communicates with an Internet server, certain technical information is necessarily exchanged in order for the server to receive and respond to the request.
For example, this may occur when:
- the offline version downloads its initial application assets;
- the online version retrieves JSON content;
- the online version loads images or HTML activities;
- the application checks whether a network connection is available; or
- the online version loads embedded YouTube content.
Technical information associated with these requests may include:
- IP address;
- date and time of the request;
- requested file, page, or resource;
- application or browser user-agent information;
- operating-system or device-related technical information; and
- network connection information.
Thaki does not use this technical information to build profiles of children, measure their emotional responses, create learning profiles, deliver targeted advertising, or track users across unrelated services.
Technical information may be processed by Thaki’s hosting infrastructure and service providers as necessary to deliver requested content, maintain service security, diagnose technical problems, and operate the application.
7. Analytics, Tracking, and User Profiling
Nour’s World does not use behavioral analytics or advertising tracking to monitor how individual children, parents, caregivers, or teachers use the application.
Nour’s World does not use application activity to create individual behavioral profiles or advertising profiles.
The application does not intentionally use services such as:
- Google Analytics;
- Firebase Analytics;
- Meta Pixel;
- advertising SDKs;
- behavioral analytics platforms; or
- marketing tracking systems
to analyze individual users within Nour’s World.
Thaki does not use children’s responses within educational activities for analytics, marketing, advertising, or profiling.
The presence of technical libraries used for networking, media playback, file management, or application functionality does not mean that those libraries are used to collect personal information.
8. Advertising and Commercial Profiling
Nour’s World does not contain advertising.
We do not:
- display behavioral or targeted advertisements;
- sell users’ personal information;
- use children’s information for marketing;
- build advertising profiles;
- share children’s activity with advertising networks; or
- use information collected through Nour’s World for targeted advertising.
The application does not include in-app purchases based on user profiling or advertising.
9. YouTube Content
The online version of Nour’s World may include educational videos displayed through an embedded YouTube player.
YouTube is a third-party service operated by Google.
When a user accesses or plays embedded YouTube content, the user’s device communicates directly with Google or YouTube servers in order to retrieve and display the video.
As part of this technical connection, Google or YouTube may receive information associated with the request, which may include:
- IP address;
- device or browser information;
- operating-system information;
- network information; and
- information necessary to provide the requested video.
Thaki does not use embedded YouTube content for behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or profiling children within Nour’s World.
Thaki does not receive children’s emotional responses, educational responses, or activity answers from YouTube.
Any information processed directly by YouTube or Google is subject to Google’s and YouTube’s own privacy practices, policies, and applicable terms.
Because Nour’s World is designed primarily for children aged 4 to 8, YouTube functionality should be configured for child-directed use where required by applicable YouTube and Google policies.
10. Application Permissions
Nour’s World uses device permissions and technical capabilities that are necessary to provide application functionality.
The permissions used may vary depending on the operating system, device version, and whether the online or offline version is being used.
Internet Access
Nour’s World uses Internet access for functions including:
- downloading the required application assets during the initial setup of the offline version;
- retrieving online educational content;
- retrieving JSON application data;
- loading images and HTML-based activities; and
- displaying embedded YouTube content in the online version.
Internet access is not used by Thaki for targeted advertising or behavioral tracking.
Network Status
Nour’s World may check the device’s network status in order to determine whether an Internet connection is available.
This allows the application to determine whether online resources can be retrieved or whether the initial application assets can be downloaded.
The network-status check is used for application functionality and is not used to determine a user’s physical location.
File and Storage Access
Nour’s World may require access to device storage or file-system functionality in order to:
- store application assets downloaded during initial setup;
- access application resources;
- store educational resources;
- save or make available PDF educational materials; and
- maintain files required for offline operation.
Nour’s World does not intentionally use file-system permissions to inspect, analyze, upload, or profile unrelated personal files stored on the user’s device.
Files accessed or stored by Nour’s World are used for providing application functionality.
Device Wake Functionality
Nour’s World may use functionality that temporarily prevents the device from sleeping while certain application features are active, for example during media playback.
This functionality does not collect personal information.
Permissions Nour’s World Does Not Require for Normal Operation
Nour’s World does not require access to the following for its normal educational functionality:
- camera;
- microphone;
- contacts;
- precise GPS location;
- telephone call history; or
- SMS messages.
If future versions of Nour’s World introduce functionality requiring additional permissions or personal information, Thaki will review the privacy implications and update this Privacy Policy where required.
11. Local Storage and Device Data
Nour’s World stores certain information locally on the user’s device in order to provide application functionality.
This may include:
- educational application assets;
- images;
- HTML-based educational resources;
- audio or video resources;
- PDF educational materials;
- application configuration information; and
- limited application preferences or settings.
The application may use local preference-storage mechanisms to remember technical application information or settings.
Such information may include, for example:
- whether required application assets have already been downloaded;
- application configuration values;
- application preferences; or
- other settings required for the application to operate correctly.
Locally stored application settings are not used by Thaki to create a personal profile of the child.
Nour’s World does not maintain a local database containing:
- a child’s identity;
- an identifiable emotional profile;
- an identifiable learning history;
- a user account;
- an identifiable quiz history; or
- an identifiable behavioral profile.
Educational content and locally stored application files remain on the device unless they are removed through the application, operating system, device-storage settings, or application uninstallation.
12. Children’s Responses and Temporary Application Data
Some of Nour’s World educational activities allow children to interact with the application.
For example, a child may:
- select an emotion;
- indicate how they feel;
- choose an answer;
- respond to a question; or
- make selections as part of an educational activity.
These interactions are designed to be anonymous.
The application may temporarily process a response in order to display the appropriate result, feedback, screen, or educational content during the current activity.
These responses are not used to create an identifiable profile of the child.
Nour’s World does not intentionally:
- transmit these responses to Thaki;
- transmit these responses to TNO;
- store them in a Thaki user database;
- associate them with the child’s identity;
- use them for advertising;
- use them for behavioral analytics;
- sell them to third parties; or
- use them to track the child across applications or websites.
Where responses exist only temporarily during an activity, they are used solely to provide the relevant educational experience.
13. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
Nour’s World relies on a limited number of third-party technical services necessary to operate the application and deliver educational content.
Thaki Hosting Infrastructure
Thaki hosts Nour’s World application resources on infrastructure used to operate the Thaki website and application services.
The application may connect to Thaki-hosted resources in order to download or retrieve:
- initial application assets;
- JSON data;
- images;
- HTML activities; and
- other educational content.
Hosting infrastructure may process limited technical network information required to respond to these requests and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
Thaki does not use these requests to create behavioral or advertising profiles of children.
SiteGround
Thaki currently uses SiteGround as part of its hosting infrastructure.
When Nour’s World retrieves resources hosted on Thaki’s infrastructure, SiteGround’s hosting systems may technically process information associated with the request, such as IP address, requested resource, time of request, and other standard network information.
Such technical processing is used for operating, maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting the hosting service.
YouTube / Google
The online version uses YouTube to provide certain educational video content.
When embedded YouTube content is accessed, the user’s device communicates directly with Google or YouTube infrastructure.
Google’s processing of information is governed by Google’s applicable privacy policies and terms.
Nour’s World does not use YouTube for behavioral advertising or to create advertising profiles about children within the application.
Application Libraries
Nour’s World uses software libraries to provide technical functionality including:
- network communication;
- content downloads;
- archive extraction;
- connectivity checking;
- local application preferences;
- audio and video playback;
- WebView-based content;
- file-system access; and
- user-interface functionality.
The inclusion of a software library in the application does not itself mean that personal information is collected or transmitted.
Thaki evaluates privacy based on how application functionality is actually implemented and used.
14. Data Sharing
Thaki does not sell or rent personal information relating to Nour’s World users.
We do not share children’s activity responses with schools, teachers, parents, TNO, advertisers, or other organizations through the application.
Limited technical information associated with Internet connections may be processed by infrastructure providers as described in this Privacy Policy solely as required to provide, secure, and maintain the relevant technical service.
15. Data Retention
Nour’s World does not maintain user accounts or a central application database containing identifiable user profiles.
Thaki does not intentionally retain:
- children’s names;
- email addresses;
- telephone numbers;
- emotional responses;
- identifiable learning progress;
- identifiable activity histories; or
- identifiable quiz responses
through Nour’s World.
Responses entered during educational activities are not retained by Thaki as identifiable user records.
Application assets and preferences stored locally on the device may remain on the device for as long as the application remains installed or until the relevant files or application data are removed.
Technical server information generated when a device connects to Thaki’s infrastructure may be retained temporarily by hosting systems where necessary for:
- service operation;
- security;
- maintenance;
- error diagnosis; and
- troubleshooting.
The exact retention period for infrastructure-generated server logs may depend on Thaki’s hosting configuration and the practices of the relevant hosting provider.
Thaki does not use such technical server information to create profiles of children or track their behavior within Nour’s World.
16. International Use and Data Processing
Nour’s World may be used in multiple countries, including countries within the European Union and countries in the Middle East.
Internet-based services and third-party infrastructure may involve the processing of technical information in countries other than the country in which a user is located.
Where applicable, Thaki takes applicable data-protection requirements into account when selecting and operating services that process information on its behalf.
17. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable data-protection laws may provide you or your parent or legal guardian with rights concerning personal information, including rights to request information about how personal data is processed or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
Because Nour’s World does not maintain user accounts or databases containing identifiable activity histories, in all cases Thaki will not have information that can be linked back to an individual Nour’s World user.
Parents, caregivers, teachers, or other users who have questions about privacy or their rights may contact Thaki using the details provided below.
18. Security
Thaki takes reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of Nour’s World and the information processed through its supporting infrastructure.
The application has been designed to minimize the amount of user information that needs to be processed and to avoid maintaining identifiable profiles of children.
No Internet-based system can be described as completely risk-free, and users should maintain appropriate security protections on their devices and networks.
19. Changes to Nour’s World
Thaki will review the privacy implications of Nour’s World when material technical changes are introduced.
This includes changes such as:
- adding user accounts;
- introducing cloud storage;
- introducing analytics;
- introducing new third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) or services;
- adding advertising;
- collecting personal information;
- adding new device permissions;

- transmitting children’s activity responses to a server.
If a change materially affects how personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or in connection with the introduction of that functionality.
The “Last Updated” date of the Privacy Policy will be revised when material changes are made.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the application, technology, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.
Users are encouraged to review the current version periodically.
Material changes affecting children’s privacy will be reviewed before the relevant functionality is introduced.
