Thaki in Lebanon

Keeping learning within reach

Thaki provides refurbished laptops, offline digital learning and teacher support to schools and learning centers serving refugee and vulnerable children across Lebanon.

Years of economic crisis, displacement and conflict have put enormous pressure on education in Lebanon. More than 1 million people in Lebanon have been displaced in 2026, an estimated 35 per cent of whom are children. (Source: UNHCR.) Schools have been damaged, destroyed or repurposed as shelters. The government also estimates that over 1.4 million Syrians remain in Lebanon after becoming refugees due to the Syria war. (Source: UNHCR.)

In 2026, Thaki has the ambitious target of deploying 4,000 laptops to serve displaced learners. Follow our progress here.

A story of possibility

At Sally Organization in the Bekaa Valley, teachers and students wanted to bring more technology into learning, but the school and centers did not have the resources for a proper computer lab. With support from Thaki, Sally Organization received 25 laptops and teacher training in 2025.

Today, its 1,000 students can regularly access technology-enabled lessons and STEAM activities. Founder Majeda Saleh told Thaki that technology helps students develop research and critical-thinking skills while making lessons more interactive and engaging.
